NFL - Philadelphia Eagles News:

 • Eagles Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

For the second year in a row the Eagles are taking a free-agent gamble on a guy coming off major knee surgery.

Defensive back Marlin Jackson who is recovering from his second ACL tear in as many seasons signed an incentive-laden two-year deal with the team. Even though he is just four months removed from surgery the Eagles are penciling him in as their starting free safety this season.

They're hoping to get a quicker return on this investment than they did last year with offensive lineman Stacy Andrews. The Eagles signed him last March to a six-year $40 million deal just two months after he had surgery to repair a torn ACL and hoped he would start for them at either right guard or right tackle. NHL - Philadelphia Flyers News:

 • Flyers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Twenty-seven hours after recording their most exhilarating win of the season the Flyers will go right back at it Sunday when they visit the New York Rangers.
